Cornhole for a Cause 2018 was a great success! Teams "A Hole Lotta Fun" and "Unicornholes" were the final two teams to compete for first place. It came down to a one-point difference, and the Unicornholes took first prize! While they proudly took home a homemade trophy, the team donated the items in the prize basket back to NVRDC to include in the silent auction for our 2018 Annual Event this November! Network for Victim Recovery of DC (NVRDC) invites you to join us for our 6th Annual Event, Advancing through Adversity, in recognition of the ways that survivors must learn to cope with their experiences because they must live with them. The event will also recognize how we, as their advocates, must seek the positive in bad situations in order to continue to do our work with the wind at our backs. We are excited to celebrate NVRDC’s 5 years of providing holistic legal advocacy and comprehensive case management to assist victims in their quest for justice.
Now more than ever, it is vital to send a message of support to all victims of crime and to honor various forms of recovery and perceptions of justice. NVRDC’s services are provided for free to all clients, regardless of income, for as long as they need assistance and representation. All of the proceeds from the Annual Event ensure that our services remain available when crime victims need them most.
Tickets include admission to the event, food, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, and the opportunity to bid on items during the Silent Auction.

As a community, the District of Columbia can help crime victims and their loved ones across our city stand with, and advocate for, survivors of crime. Join the Network for Victim Recovery of DC (NVRDC) for the Run for Rights Sur5K and Fun Run/Walk on Saturday, April 16th at East Potomac Park. This event is part of National Crime Victims’ Rights Week 2016, a nationwide effort to raise awareness for crime victims’ rights and restore victims’ hope for healing and recovery.
The race will begin at 8:00 am, and all participants and audience members are invited to a finish festival following the race, featuring local organizations and service providers who work directly with victims of crime in our city.

Running a race is difficult. It takes dedication, hard work, strength, and determination. Take the challenge in honor of crime victims across our city. It’s more than just a 5K. It’s a journey we will take together in solidarity with victims of crime everywhere.
For this event, we invite crime survivors, their friends, their family, and their community to come out to raise awareness for victims’ rights in the District and show their support for all victims of crime. While many 5K events are fundraisers, we are committed to making this event available to everyone regardless of financial means. Particularly because we know that crime impacts everyone, we are committed to creating a truly inclusive event that invites all victims of crime, their friends, family, and the DC community to show their support for victims of all types of crime in our city.
Thanks to Hogan Lovells and the DC Victim Hotline, registration is free for all participants!
The first 35 crime survivors and 65 supporters to register will receive a free event t-shirt.

Share Your Story invites victims and survivors of crime in DC to use art as an act of testimony and self-expression. Following a traumatic event, there is often a process of having to tell and re-tell the unfolding events of what happened. Afterwards, many survivors become silent and may be hesitant to verbally process their experienced incident. Here, however, words do not have to be the primary medium; color, texture, and visual expression will capture what words cannot. The pieces created, by survivors at Share Your Story, will be part of a larger celebration—the Annual NVRDC Fundraiser. This event is hosted each November and includes a special keynote speaker, community partners, food and full bar, etc. A highlighted portion of this event will be a silent auction, which will include art pieces by participating survivors from Share Your Story.
Victimization happens in isolation, but healing takes place with community—NVRDC aims to reach out and rise up for all individuals impacted by crime. We hope that you will reach with us to share your story.
Please RSVP to this free event!
